This morning, like the rest of the UK/ Europe, I awoke to the terribly sad news of Robin Williams death, I was in shock – how could one of my childhood actor heroes be gone so young?

It’s often the case that the happiest people on camera/ in the public eye are usually also the saddest behind the scenes, the pressure on their lives must be immense, it’s no secret that Robin was struggling in life with drugs and alcohol, I just feel so sad that nothing more could’ve been done to help him through the other end.

Today a lot of people online have been expressing the importance of looking out for others, checking their ok, giving them someone to talk to, depression is a horrible thing and it’s very, very real. It’s made me think twice.

Thank you Robin for bringing such joy to others despite not feeling so happy yourself.

Take a minute to watch one of my favourite childhood memories, Robin in Flubber

Robin playing the Genie in the 1992 Disney film Aladdin

The magical Jumanji…

and who could ever forget Mrs Doubtfire

R.I.P you wonderful talent.
