SNEAKBO FT. L MARSHALL – SING FOR TOMORROW [A. 64]

Sing For Tomorrow is one of my favourite tracks of 2012 so far. I like this A.64 version but the different key used in this doesn’t do this song justice.

TULISA – TITANIUM (COVER) [PERFORMANCE]

Tulisa was in BBC Radio 1′s Live Lounge yesterday to promote her new single Young – which by the way I now LOVE. As well as singing a live version of that she also covered David Guetta’s Titanium and has made it sounds amazing!

The vocals on this are insane.

SB.TV continue to put in the work for 2012. This time round we hear from Nneka, the woman behind Heartbeat, famously remixed by Chase & Status. Her new single Shining Star is so beautiful as is her voice in general, evidence of which below as she sings My Home.

JOSH KUMRA FT. MAHALIA – WHAT WE MIGHT FIND [PERFORMANCE]

What we have here Ladies & Gents are two huge UK talents. First up, Josh Kumra who I’m sure you guys all know from Wretch 32′s number one Don’t Go he’s working hard getting his music together so hopefully an album from him can be expected in 2013. Next up is Mahalia, a new artist to my life but aged just 13 has an incredible amount of talent and a huge future ahead of her. Combine the two and we have this powerful record called What We Might Find.

SNOOP DOGG AT COACHELLA

I am yet to post anything up from Coachalla Festival which took place over the weekend, mostly because I’m envious of anyone that was there.

This is performance however is too insane to ignore. Video evidence of Snoop Doggy shutting down Coachalla Festival in CA with the help of Dr Dre, 50 Cent, Wiz Khalifa, Eminem and Tupac – believe it, technology has come a long way.

Snoop dropped classic after classic – it’s like when you drop one of his tracks in the clubs, the crowd still go wild for this.

Here’s just 15 minutes worth of the 52 minute set.

ADDED BONUS:

DALEY – CLIMAX [A 64]

Daley is a name that’s been floating around for some time now, when I as on 1Xtra we were tipping him for big things in 2010 – didn’t quite happen.

Either way this guy is seriously talented and makes amazing music.

Evidence below as he covers Usher’s Cliamx.

ED SHEERAN – GIVE ME LOVE [PERFORMANCE]

This is mental. Ed Sheeran supporting Snow Patrol in Orlando. The reaction this guy gets in the UK is crazy enough (all well deserved of course) but to see a similar reaction all the way over in the US must be crazy for Ed.

He deserves all the success in the world.

Here is is performing my favourite track of his Give Me Love, yup, all 10 minutes of it.

Spotted at House of Coxhead

SHAKKAPELLA FT. VULA – CLIMAX VS. SOMEBODYTHAT I USED TO KNOW [PERFORMANCE]

This is pretty special and a very nice listen for a Monday morning. I’ve just stumbled across this on YouTube after seeing Mr Thomas Coxhead add it to his fav’s.

Shakkapella do a whole load of videos and mash up’s. This one see’s Gotye’s chart smash Somebody That I Used To Know fused with Usher’s new one Climax – and yes, it works a dream.

Up and coming stars Clement Marfo & The Frontline popped into see Max on her Sunday Sessions show on London’s Choice FM last night.

You will remember Josh from Wretch’s track Don’t Go, he’s a great new talent who I’m really excited about hearing more from. This F64 recorded for SB.TV is good proof of how talented he is.

MZ BRATT F64

Hello you, sorry I’ve been gone over the weekend, I was DJing last night down a very snazzy/ posh road in London called Kings Road which was cool and other than that I’ve been drowning in my own body weight by eating chocolate and drinking tea – fun all round.

Over the weekend this video dropped, the first F64 video from Mz Bratt, I can’t believe it took SB and Bratt this long to get something recorded but it was worth the wait.

NEW TALENT: VENICE

So ladies and gents, what we have here is some talent I need you to get in your life. They may not be ‘new’ in terms of how long they have been making music but I’m guessing most of you haven’t heard of them and so for the sake of this blog post, they are new. The band is called Venice, formerly known as Lights & Sounds. Hailing from my home county of Buckinghamshire these guys have been making music for a long while now, their old stuff (under the name Lights & Sounds) is mind blowing, back in the old days when I was a teenager I would listen to their stuff on a loop and always think “how the hell are these guys not signed, doing world tours and selling millions of albums?”

Here’s a few cover videos they have recently uploaded. One of Nero’s Reaching Out and another of Jessie J’s Domino – both sounding wicked.

Follow them on Twitter and like their Facebook page.

I really hope they get their time to shine, the world needs to hear them.

BRIT AWARDS 2012

Last night the 02 Arena in London played host to the yearly Brit Awards. Back on hosting duties was James Corden who also hosted in 2011 and I have to say he did a great job, it must be so difficult trying to keep everything tight, to the scipt but also want to throw in some personality as well and I thought he did really well. There are, as you may have heard, a few things being said about Adele’s thank you speech being cut off short by James at the end of the show – this obviously wasn’t his fault, the presenter does as he’s told, end of.

So, the highlights and the winners of the show were:

Ed Sheeran won British Male Solo Artist of the year as well as British Breakthough Act. In his thank you speech he said,

”I honestly didn’t think I’d get this one. I want to thank my family, the fans, every single promoter that has ever booked me, every single radio DJ that has ever played me, and my label.”

What a nice guy. I have to say though his performance didn’t blow me away, but his straight forward, no messing around attitude is one that a lot of artists need to take note of. Clearly audiences are now buying into artists who keep it simple and who they can relate to which brings me onto the beautiful Adele.

Adele won British Female Solo Artist and British Album Of The Year (naturally). She also performed the mighty Rolling In The Deep which, seeing as she has recently had surgery on her throat, was world class as always.

Full list on winners:

British Female Solo Artist : Adele
International Male Solo Artist: Bruno Mars
Critics’ Choice: Emeli Sande
Best British Single: One Direction, What makes You Beautiful
International Female Solo Artist: Rihanna
British Male Solo Artist: Ed Sheeran
British Group: Coldplay
Best International Group: Foo Fighters
British Breakthrough Act: Ed Sheeran
International Breakthrough Act: Lana Del Rey
Outstanding Contribution To Music: Blur
British Album of the Year: Adele

Rihanna performed or more danced her way through We Found Love which looked wicked, Ed Sheeran sang Lego House and Adele with Rolling In The Deep, have a watch below.

JAZMINE SULLIVAN – KISS FROM A ROSE [PERFORMANCE]

I just came across this video whilst watching some old videos on YouTube. From back in 2009 this is the amazing singer Jazmine Sullivan, one of the best female voices in the world covering one of my favourite records, Seal’s Kiss From A Rose.

Just a warning, this video will blow you away.

If you never heard Jazmine’s debut album Fearless you are really missing out.

YASMIN – HEARD IT ALL BEFORE [ACOUSTIC COVER]

Yasmin performed this cover of the classic Heard It All Before by Sunshine Anderson for Dropout UK. Obviously nothing tops Sunshine’s version but I like the acoustic vibe of this.
