After a 2 week “break” with this I return with another fave record in the world right now. This one is one of those choices which may shock some.
As you know I love my pop music just as much as I love my Hip Hop. Something some may find difficult to understand but hey, good music is good music right?!
Demi Lovato has released her new album entitled Demi. As you would expect it’s full of powerful pop tracks and a lot of gurl power. Something That We’re Not is a track which really stands out to me, this is so in your face pop it’s not even funny.
If you love a tune which will stick in your head for days, maybe even weeks then this is one for you.

With last weeks fave record in the world right now being SUCH a biggie, it seemed difficult to find a track which could beat it, despite that fact, here we are, a new week and a new fave record in the world right now!
This weeks track comes from California trio — Kristo, A Wolf, and THX aka Drop City Yacht Club. The track features Jeremih and it’s called Crickets. I first heard this record on DJ Swerves KISS FM mix show and I instantly LOVED it.
For me there are two factors I look for in a song:
1) The hook – is it memorable and catchy?
2) The production – does it grab me and stand out?
3) The vocal – are there harmonies which get me all stupid and excited?
This track ticks all 3 of those boxes. It has a real summer vibe to it as well which is always a positive. I could talk about it more but I think the track itself says it all.

Despite not being a brand brand brand new record, this is still my favourite of the moment. The latest offering from J. Cole and Miguel with Power Trip.
After hearing this more and more I’ve fallen in love with this, it was hard not to really for a few reasons:
1) Miguel is on it
2) It’s a Hip Hop track with soul all over it
3) Miguel is on it
4) This is the best J. Cole track to date

One day late because it’s bank holiday and I’ve been a lazy so and so…. but here is this weeks fave record in the world right now!!
This week it’s from Rudimental with a track from their debut album Home, which hit the number 1 spot in the UK last night. The track in question is called Powerless and features the INSANE vocal talents of Becky Hill – seriously, this girl can SING.
This track is so in your face it’s stupid, the hook hits you like BANG and then you’re sucked in, this is one of the best records I’ve heard in a while.

This ladies and gents, is pop music at it’s very best. The new Demi Levato song, Heart Attack has had a fair few plays on my Hits Radio show and I’ve since become pretty much obsessed with it.
Demi hits those seriously high notes, the track itself has stupidly tight poppy production, with a chorus which will make even the worst singers try and belt a note out.
You NEED to listen to this, even if you don’t like pop music, I honestly believe it’s impossible not to like this if not love it. Check it out!

WELL DUH. Of course Get Lucky had to be my fave record in the world right now, it’s been on repeat since I heard the 1 minute snippet, then when the full version arrived, well things got a bit silly.
The return of Daft Punk is refreshing and more than welcomed. They could have easily come back with a EDM record but that would have been boring and awful, instead they’ve stuck to what they do best – amazing dance music, with a huge sprinkle of disco and Pharrell on the vocal – what’s not to like?

After having a quick listen through the new Major Lazer album last week, there was one stand out record – Bubble Butt.
Not only does the track have a pretty amazing name, it also has a serious bounce to it making it near to impossible to not bop around. It was so big I had to play it on Episode 143 of my podcast.
Bruno Mars was not a feature I ever thought I’d seen on a ML album but it really works, Tyga kills it on this too.

I’ve posted up about Charlee many a time on the site, just last week I posted up the video for this, my favourite record in the world right now – Somebody Else.
For some overly generous reason, Charlee has given this away as a free download. To be honest though, this is the sort of track people should be buying, it would sit really well in the charts but hey, we can’t say no to a freebie right?

Oh lord, there’s yet ANOTHER big pop tune which I’m very quickly, almost too quickly, becoming obsessed with. Yup, the power that is Will.I.Am and JB have teamed up for this pop stonker, #thatPOWER (important that ‘power’ is in capitals to get the message across properly).
Apparently this was the outcome of a spontaneous recording session in London – casual or what!

This is my new obsession. It’s from Tich, a 19 year old UK singer, she’s supported the likes of JLS, StooShe and is currently on tour with Olly Murs. Her debut single is called Dumb and it’s big, really big.

Yesterday I was lucky enough to interview the biggest band of 2013, Bastille. Unsurprisingly their debut album Bad Blood went straight to number 1 this week, I listened to it 4 times yesterday on my way to and back from Birmingham where the interview took place (footage coming at the end of the month).
Overjoyed is just one of the stand out tracks from the album, despite being a soothing listen there are elements of dance sprinkled all over this making it a very special listen.

This weeks fave record in the world right now was a no brainer for me, it’s by far the biggest record I’ve heard this week – it’s the new single from AlunaGeorge called Attracting Flies.
My relationship with AlunaGeorge is like the ones you hear about in fairy tales or a Disney film, they had me at “hello” or in their case when my ears heard I Know You Like It (their debut single).
Fast forward to now, we have the debut album coming in the latter part of 2013 and the new single Attracting Flies being released next Sunday (10th).

Picking this weeks fave record in the world was a tough one. At the moment I’m loving things from all over the place, for example, Bridgit Mendlers bubble gum poptastic record, Ready or Not is stupidly addictive and it’s found a solid place in my heart (for how long I’m not sure), another is Taylor Swift’s new single 22, It’s a stand out track on her RED album there’s no doubt about that, but no, there’s something else bigger.
The new single from Angel, called The World.
You might think that Angel has a new R&B hit on his hands, what with previous singles being Wonderful and Time After Time – wrong. The World takes us to the club with anthemic synths, don’t worry though, Angel keeps it soulful throughout.

Sam Smith aka that dude who sung on Disclosure’s Latch, has recently unleashed his debut solo single, the track is called Lay You Down.
Lay You Down is so far the best “ballad” I’ve heard this year. It’s fair to say that my ears like this song A LOT.
If you ever need a few minutes to just cool off, calm down, relax… then this is that track!
