I won’t lie, I was tempted to have John Newmans epic Losing Sleep as my fave record for two weeks in a row, I can’t get enough of it and truth be told, it’s the track I’ve been listening to the most over the past 7 days, however, despite writing the rules myself I won’t do it, SO here’s my new fave track.
Picture the scene, Friday night 7:10pmish – I’m sitting at home listening to B.Traits on BBC Radio 1 covering for Annie Mac, she presses play on a tune called In Love by GRUM, “Hmm” I thought, “I’ve never heard of GRUM, let’s have a listen.” To my delight it was love at first sight (or hear), I was involved, I was won over, I wanted to hear it again, I HAD to hear it again – thank you internet!
So here it is, the brilliant GRUM with In Love, my favourite record in the world right now.

What a year John Newman’s had! After winning us all over with his features on Rudimentals Not Giving In and Feel The Love, we finally got to hear some solo material – Love Me Again followed by the massive Cheating, both taken from Johns debut album Tribute.
The third single from the album is this, my favourite record in the world right now Losing Sleep.
Filed under: Listen, Things I'm Feeling | Tags: Gorgon City, Listen, MNEK, My Favourite Record In The World Right Now, Ready For Your Love
I’m two days, TWO days late on posting up this weeks fave record in the world right now, you forgive me right?! Ok good.
So the 18 year old don MNEK has teamed up with Gorgon City for Ready For Your Love, you already know that this is going to be a huge listen right? You’d be correct.
As you’d expect MNEK kills it with his smooth and soulful vocal and Gorgon City do their thing on the production.
Have a listen, you’ll agree with me ;)
Filed under: Blog, Listen, Things I'm Feeling | Tags: Jess Glynne, Listen, My Favourite Record In The World Right Now, My Love, Route 94
Route 94 is a producer who has apparently appeared out of nowhere making huge remixes including that of Storm Queens Look Right Through. We have a new solo offering called My Love featuring Jess Glynn on the vocal, it’s one of those house records you never ever want to end.
Beautiful piano melodies + female vocal = win win win
Have a listen to my favourite record in the world right now for yourself (it’s also featured on Podcast 156)
Filed under: Listen, Things I'm Feeling | Tags: Dear No One, Listen, My Favourite Record In The World Right Now, Tori Kelly
I’ve fallen in love this week, well, not actually in love in love, but in love with a voice… anyway, her name is Tori Kelly, a 20 year old singer from America who makes and sings beautiful sweet music.
Her Foreword EP has just been released and features five sublime tracks including this, my favourite record in the world right now Dear No One.
I could waste many a character telling you why I love this song so much, instead I think it’s best that you just press play and listen for yourself, I have no doubt in my mind that you’ll feel exactly the same way.
Filed under: Listen, Things I'm Feeling | Tags: DJ Snake, Lil Jon, Listen, My Favourite Record In The World Right Now, Turn Down For What
A new week, a new favourite record in the world right now! This weeks track comes from the mighty DJ Snake and Lil Jon with Turn Down For What.
This is a tune which has been floating around for a while now and I never really paid it that much attention, now that’s all changed, why? Because this is an abosoloute TUNE!
The break down in this gets me going crazy everytime and Lil Jon actually sounds listeable!
Check it out for yourself.
Filed under: Listen, Things I'm Feeling | Tags: Bastille, Listen, My Favourite Record In The World Right Now, Of The Night
Hiii! Sunday night means it’s time to share with you the song I’ve been LOVING over the past 7 days. This week it comes from my favourite band of 2013, Bastille.
The debut album Bad Blood won over so many people including me and I’ve been a fan ever since. Having the pleasure of speaking to Dan and Will from the band earlier in the year was the cherry on top, check the interview here if you haven’t seen it before.
The guys are back with what they became famous for, their brilliant covers. This time it’s of the 1994 Corona dance classic, Rhythm of The Night.
This is nothing short of brilliant.
Filed under: Blog, Listen, Things I'm Feeling | Tags: Justin Timberlake, Listen, Murder, My Favourite Record In The World Right Now
A few days late but here is my fave record in the world right now from Mr JT. This is so far my favourite cut from the new album The 20/20 Experience – 2 of 2.
Produced by the mighty Timbaland, Murder is one of the most creative records from the album. Timbaland and Justin seem to have such a magical connection when they get into the studio together, I can’t name a bad track they’ve made.
There’s a part which really stands out to me about this track, It’s so small but I just love it. The section where Justin repeats “It’s Murder, Murder,” yeah, that’s literally my favourite part.
Have a listen for yourself and see what you think!
Filed under: Blog, Listen, Things I'm Feeling | Tags: Drake, From Time, Jhene Aiko, Listen, My Favourite Record In The World Right Now
It’s been a while since I’ve posted up my fave record in the world right now, the usual excuses apply – fear not, it’s back and in full effect!
So Drake has released the highly anticipated album Nothing Was The Same – Hip Hop/ Drake/ R&B fans go crazy around the world, girls dump their boyfriends because let’s be real, they aren’t Drake etc. etc.
I found people went crazy because it was Drake, forget the music, people love the man and the music second (mostly girls). After listening to the album though it’s impossible not to love the music, this is probably his finest piece of work yet aside from the debut mixtape.
From Time was the record which stood out to me from the first, second and third listen, there’s something so beautiful about it, it’s so calming and the vocal of Jhene Aiko will send chills down your spine. Listen for yourself to my fave record in the world right now from the man they call Drake.
Filed under: Listen, Things I'm Feeling | Tags: Eliza Doolittle, Listen, My Favourite Record In The World Right Now, The Hype, Wookie
If you’re after a record full of summer vibes, a wicked soulful female vocal and a bloody brilliant producer behind it then you’re in lucl, The Hype has all of that.
It seems as though Eliza Doolittle has put her name back on the map, not only in Pop but also in a whole new market. After smashing it with Disclosure’s You & Me, Eliza lends her soothing vocal to this and it works like a dream!
I can’t get enough of this, that’s why it’s this weeks fave record in the world right now.
Filed under: Listen, Things I'm Feeling | Tags: Drake, Hold On We're Going Home, Listen, Majid Jordan, My Favourite Record In The World Right Now
I won’t lie to you guys, this week has been a little slow on the new music front. There is of course always new music coming into me everyday, the quality of it however is a different subject. Despite this fact, I’ve managed to find my 110th favourite record in the world right now.
This weeks track comes from Drake with his new single Hold On, We’re Going Home. This record showcases the sides I love most about Drake – emotion and a sick R&B hook. This is a catchy number, bring on the album next month!
Filed under: Listen, Things I'm Feeling | Tags: Disciples, Listen, My Favourite Record In The World Right Now, New Music, Remedy
I posted this record a few posts down earlier in the week, it’s brand new music from a UK trio called Disciples, this is their new release entitled Remedy.
This summer has really brought about some wicked new music from some new artists/ groups/ bands. The summer seems to bring out the fun and creative side of people perhaps? Either way summer 2013 has proven to be great for one genre in particular, House, Remedy is a great example of this.
Filed under: Listen, New Music | Tags: At Your Touch, Joe Hertz, Listen, My Favourite Record In The World Right Now
Here’s something very, very big to start the new week off right! Joe Hertz was introduced to my via DJ Target on BBC Radio 1Xtra, I forgot to search for it until I heard Toddla T play it on Thursday night.
London based but, like his contemporaries, globally inspired, Joe’s sound draws on a heady mix of on point drum programming and tension laced melodies that blur genre boundaries with poise and class, fittingly showcased in his debut single, ‘At Your Touch’.
At Your Touch will be released near the end of the summer, it will be so worth the wait. In the mean time have a listen via the SoundCloud stream, this is by far my favourite record in the world right now.
