Guys I can’t tell you how excited I am to see the forthcoming film Despicable Me 2, it’s coming out in cinemas on June 26th!

After releasing his last album DNA Mario went a little bit quiet, the good news is that he’s back! He promises to bring a refreshing sound to R&B with his new forthcoming album starting with this, the new single featuring Minaj called Somebody Else produced by the one and only Polow Da Don.

As The Dream gets ready to release his 5th (?!?!?!?!) studio album IV Play, we get to hear the whole thing in full via the powers of the internet.
I have such high expectations for this album, I’m afraid however that just like the last 3 I’ll be seriously let down. His debut and second albums were, in my eyes, classics. They pushed the boundaries of how R&B music sounded at the time and made it exciting again. Tracks such as She Needs My Love, Walkin On The Moon and, the 6 minute monster Right Side Of My Brain were the records
which made The Dream stand out from the rest.

4 The Rest of My Life shows the side of Robin a lot of his female fans love, the slow, thoughtful side, and hey, I’m also a fan of this. It reminds me of the Lost Without You days back in ye olde 2006…

With last weeks fave record in the world right now being SUCH a biggie, it seemed difficult to find a track which could beat it, despite that fact, here we are, a new week and a new fave record in the world right now!
This weeks track comes from California trio — Kristo, A Wolf, and THX aka Drop City Yacht Club. The track features Jeremih and it’s called Crickets. I first heard this record on DJ Swerves KISS FM mix show and I instantly LOVED it.
For me there are two factors I look for in a song:
1) The hook – is it memorable and catchy?
2) The production – does it grab me and stand out?
3) The vocal – are there harmonies which get me all stupid and excited?
This track ticks all 3 of those boxes. It has a real summer vibe to it as well which is always a positive. I could talk about it more but I think the track itself says it all.

We haven’t heard from Jay in a while, he’s been busy working on his second studio album entitled Neon. The first single, released on June 25th features Rick Ross and is called Mars.
In true Jay Sean fashion this is a smooth tune with an added element of gangster-ness from Rick.

Played for the first time on BBC Radio 1 by Annie Mac on Friday, this is the brand new single from Katy B!
It’s been a while since we’ve had a proper single release from Katy, she of course had the mixtape release which was huge but it’s good to see her back back back properly back.
What Love Is Made Of is another huge club record which will no doubt sound perfect in the sun!

Mark Asari is a name I’ve been following for a year or so now, he first cropped up on my musical radar after featuring on PW’s debut mixtape, he has one hell of a voice.

Despite not being a brand brand brand new record, this is still my favourite of the moment. The latest offering from J. Cole and Miguel with Power Trip.
After hearing this more and more I’ve fallen in love with this, it was hard not to really for a few reasons:
1) Miguel is on it
2) It’s a Hip Hop track with soul all over it
3) Miguel is on it
4) This is the best J. Cole track to date
