On Saturday I had two brilliant and inspiring interviews with two rising stars in radio – Nick Bright and Adele Roberts, both presenters at BBC Radio 1Xtra.
If you’ve always dreamed of making it in the media then you need to hear both of these interviews.
Nick and Adele both have very different paths and avenues they went down and that is why this project I’m doing is so interesting – there’s no set rule or way to get in.

For those that don’t know I’m currently studying Radio Production at university. Apart of that course involves an online media module. It’s pretty open with the projects we can make and for my final year 2 assesment I’ve decided to make an audio series.
Now, seeing as I love all things audio/ radio and I’m passionate about the media I thought it would be a good idea to make a series called Making It In The Media. The aim of this is to hear from people who have made it in the media and those who are trying, I want to know the different paths people are taking to get to their dream.
Episode 1 is all about my experiences and the path I’m taking.

On Friday I spoke to Billie JD Porter from Channel 4′s The Joy of Teen Sex. It was for a uni project but thought I’d clip it up and post it!
Yesterday I was interviewed by Cameron Rawson who is a teen blogger, aspiring journo and music lover.

I speak to Will about the 3 biggest achievements to date. What he’s studying at university. How he chooses the music for his podcast. What it was like hosting a show for the first time on BBC Radio 1Xtra, and how he felt DJ’ing to 60,000+ people at T4OTB.

On Monday I recorded this phone interview with blogger Thomas Coxhead who runs The House of Coxhead. This interview was actually for a university project I’m working on based around bloggers. It’s proving to be a very interesting journey so far with so many different types of blogs and so many reasons why people are blogging. Every now and then an artist comes along who brings something fresh, unique and exciting – meet PW.
If you’re a regular podcast listener then you will know that I’ve been playing PW’s track Sensible a lot, I even said It was my favourite track of this Summer so it was only right that I sat down with the man himself for a chat in time for his debut mixtape to be released.
It was great to meet PW, I could tell that he will be a talent we will all need to keep our eyes and ears out for. It was good to see someone that talented with his feet on the ground and taking it all in his stride.
At a recent show in London Semtex caught up with 19 year old white boy Mac Miller. This guys the same age as me and he’s really got it going on right now, he’s touring europe off the back of a few mixtapes and he’s not even signed to a major label – though saying that, is that really big news these days? Probably not.
Theres something special about Mac and his delivery. He along with the other new school Hip Hop guys like Wiz, Drake and Big Sean are all carving a new path in Hip Hop, it’s a path that needed to happen, Hip Hop needed a shake up and I’m glad to hear it.

This was hard for me to watch. Dionne had an interview with Scott Mills on Radio 1 the other morning (he’s covering for Chris Moyles) they talked in length about how she heard about Amy’s death and her feelings. She’s only 15, she was 15 minutes away from going on stage and her album has only just come out, I can’t imagine how hard this has all been for her. I was with her and Amy two days before her death and I know it meant a lot to Dionne that Amy was there.

Tyler as in Tyler from Odd Future, OFWGKTA walked out on Tim Westwood during an interview at a recent show in London when Tim brought up the subject of planking (apparently its a craze formed in the US with some links to slavery) I’m not sure if this reaction is real or not? What do you think?
