Check the trailer, this looks epic on a whole new scale.

Whilst on my week away in hot hot hot Portugal I took the time to see two new fims. One was the brand new Avengers film in 3D and the other the highly anticipated Tim Burton directed Dark Shadows.
I’ll start off with The Avengers Assemble in 3D. In I went to a very cool air conditioned cinema escaping from the 30 degree heat outside for a few hours with my sweet popcorn and medium sprite in hand. I was expecting cheese, action, more cheese, fighting, cheese and CHEESE and oh boy, did I get it.
The film brings together Iron Man, Captain America, Hulk and Thor who form a team that needs to stop Thor’s adopted brother Loki from enslaving the human race – deep!
It was faced paced, the acting was good (if not a bit ott which is fine for an action comic film I guess) but the special effects were something else, mind blowing to watch in 3D as well. The plot was also interesting, I’m glad I saw it. A strong 8/10 for this one!
Moving onto Dark Shadows, based around the 1991 TV series. This is directed by Tim Burton so OF COURSE his wife (Helena Bonham Carter) and Johnny Depp are in it.
Depp plays a vampire by the name of Barnabas Collins, a 200-year-old vampire, and Michelle Pfeiffer as his cousin Elizabeth Collins Stoddard. The film also features teen star Chloe Moretz (love her).
So I had high hope’s for this, Tim has directed some great films such as Willy Wonka, Edward Scissorhands, a childhood fav James and the Giant Peach and Alice in Wonderland all of which was amazing, so could this follow in their footsteps? Sadly no.
Instead this film dragged, the story line was a bit “whaaat?” and “boooring get on with it” oh and “hang on this film is all about a love affair with a character we only see 5 minutes of” – not great.
A highlight was Chloe Moretz, at just 15 she had the task of playing a rebelious teenager and she did a good job of it, the rest I could have gone without – just get it on DVD. A 6/10 I’m afraid.
I’m off to see American Pie tonight which I have high hopes for, I’ll report back.

After releasing his come back single iLL Manors Ben Drew aka Plan B is also releasing a film which he’s directed under the same title.
The film follows 6 characters, all of who can’t escape the life of crime of the streets of London ciy.
iLL Manors is out in cinemas on June 6th.

I CAN’T WAIT to see this film. I still need to see The Avengers actually. The Dark Knight Rises will no doubt be the film of choice for Summer 2012.

YEYEYEYEYEYEY. The kid in me (which is basically all of me) has just gone crazy after hearing this news. I am such a big Pixar fan so this has made my day that little bit better.
First off, The Good Dinosaur will be in cinemas on May 30, 2014. This has been directed by the co-director of Up Bob Peterson. The film takes place in a world where the giant asteroid responsible for wiping out the dinosaurs misses the Earth and the creatures continue to live – sounds so good.
Secondly, there will be a film based around Dia de los Muertos, a Mexican holiday celebration where family and friends gather together to remember lost loved ones – title and release date TBC.
Thirdly, a film directed by Up director Pete Docter has been pushed back to 2015! The Pixar press release said that the untitled film will “take you to a place that everyone knows, but no-one has ever seen: the world inside the human mind”. – WOW.
Well whilst we wait ages for those new films have a watch of the trailer for Brave, a Pixar film released in June.

Will Ferrell, dressed as Ron Burgundy made a surprise appearence on the Conan chat show in the US last night, why? Well because Anchorman 2 is happening, yes, it’s official.

I saw 21 Jump Street on Monday afternoon and after hearing some really great reviews I had high hopes and expected to laugh at least 3 times – which for me is quite a big deal during a film. After the first 5 minutes I had already laughed more than 3 times, a very good sign.
This film, with a great cast of Jonah Hill, Channing Tatum and none other than Ice Cube is a great combination which really works. I am a huge Jonah Hill fan, Superbad is one of my favourite films EVER so if you love that then I can 100% promise you will love this too.
This is the typical teen film full of alchol, girls, police doing terrible jobs and possibly too much swearing – a must watch.

Hello you. Hope you had a good weekend, mine has consisted of a total chocolate binge seeing as I diet in the week and on Saturday night I went to see The Woman in Black in the cinema.
Sweet popcorn and Sprite in hand I got myself ready. After hearing loads of great things about this film I was ready to be impressed I was sure however that I wasn’t going to be scared by this film, it is after all a 12A rating.
Despite having 6 or 7 of the most annoying and ignorant kids behind me, throwing popcorn at my head after telling them to shut up I was enjoying the film and so far hadn’t been scared. About half an hour in however, things began to change. My hand became closer and closer to my face as the film progressed, at any moment where I thought I would let myself go and let out a scream I would simply cover my eyes and pretend nothing was happening – what a little baby!
I also thought that Daniel Radcliffe played his role very well, I actually forgot that he was Harry Potter.
I won’t say anymore but this film is great and YES it is scary but the stage play is brilliant so if you can, go and see that as well.
Last night was award night, whilst over in LA the Grammy’s took place, in my hometown of London the BAFTA film awards were held at The Royal Opera House in Covent Garden.
The rising star award went to Adam Deacon, the underdog of the night came up on top – very well deserved, and, although I can’t relate to his struggle and up bringing I’m very sure that thousands of young men can.
I’ve met Adam whilst I was at 1Xtra and he really is a nice guy.

Saturday night is always my favourite night expecially if a Yo Sushi and cinema trip is involved.
Rebecca Hall plays the leading roll in this thriller. I was expecting more of a horror with lots of jumping and hand over eye moments but these only came once or twice, the first time I blamed my high jump on “something falling from the cealing” my friend wasn’t falling for it.
This film has a very british feel, set in 1921, in a post-war world boarding school ghostly sighting’s keep happening which the school boys report, the character that Rebcecca Hall plays is sent in to solve the mystery through photography and a few other contraptions. There’s a big twist at the very end – I can’t really say anything more than that.
This was a good film, not great but then again I was after a bit more horror than thriller but a good 6/10 will do for me.

I had my (almost) weekly trip to the cinema at the weekend and saw the brilliant new animated film of Tintin.
This really surprised me to be a great film, the plot was good, the acting (If I can call an animated film acting) was also on top form, great cast – though because they put on voices I couldn’t tell who was who.
The main amazement though was how this film was made, I’ve never really seen anything so life like before. There were so many moments when I questioned if It was a human or CGI I was looking at.
I had never seen or read anything about Tintin before so after a shock response from family and girlfriend I was pleasently surprised and loved it – 7/10.

The other night I was back in the cinema with my medium Sprite and sweet popcorn in my arm to watch the new Inbetweeners movie I’d been so looking forward to. I’d asked my faithful Twitter followers what they thought of it and everyone said it was epic, funniest film ever and that I’ll love it.
In true Inbetweeners style the guys go on a ‘lads’ holiday to Malia. It actually reminded me a bit of my holdiay there minus everything they got up to.
The film started off really strong, the whole cinema was laughing and it takes a lot for me to laugh at films. Towards the middle I thought “hmmm I was expecting better” and towards the end I thought “A) This is a very short film, more like a long episode and B) It really isn’t that funny near the end.”
After I had de constructed the film in my head I think it worthy of a 7/10. Good, but not great. Funny but not hilarious. Worth seeing, but not too soon.
New UK film featuring Tulisa from N-Dubz, Reggie Yates and a whole heap of UK talent. SB.TV had the exclusive with the trailer today and here it is.
This looks like a very well shot film and I have to say I’m looking forward to seeing it.

Finally after having to wait 3 days for my best mate to get back from holiday I went to see harry potter on Monday night. I am a very big harry potter geek and fan, the past films have always had a flaw, sometimes minor other times tragic so I was anxious about the film makers getting the final one right. I have to say now that this film was everything I and other fans needed it to be, it was insane. Thank god they split this into two films otherwise it would have been awful with so many important details missing. I left with a lump in my throat and a tear in my eye.
It’s a weird feeling for people my age, we grew up with Harry Potter, when I was in year 5 I remember everyone was reading the first book and we all loved it, a few years later when we were 10 years old then film came out and here we are now, I’m 19, it’s been with me my whole teen life. Long live Harry Potter.
