Friend and very VERY talented musician Cynikal has been working his back side off for years, I mean years. He first sent me a track called Things Change back in 2006/7 when I was doing internet radio – those were the days!
His unique Hip Hop sound grabbed me, his flow was raw and fresh and his production values sounded like something I had never heard before. I was excited to hear more.
Last year I had the honour of gracing the stage with him at Lovebox festival and watch his live band do their thing whilst he held the mic – the talent is undeniable.
After hearing a few sample productions when I’ve been to his studio I knew there was something very special being cooked up for the world to hear and now the hard work has paid off as Cynikal’s debut mixtape Breakfast is finally here.

I’m probably not the only one who wondered when UK artist Devlin was going to release new material. His debut album Blood Sweat & Beers was one which I had on repeat in the car for a long, long time. His raw flow and gritty commentary on everyday live gripped me and many others in the UK but then all went silent.
The good news is that there is a new album coming in October, the even better news is that he’s released a 5 track mixtape to keep us excited.
