Hot off the press is this new monster from M.I.A. I heard this on BBC Radio 1 Monday night as it was played as Zane Lowe’s Hottest Record In The World Right Now and hot it is.

West London based singer Angel is releasing his debut single Go In, Go Hard which features Wretch 32 on March 12th. In the lead up to that release he has kindly recorded a 10 track mixtape for free download, what a kind man he is. Any Minute Now features covers of tracks by Drake, Frank Ocean, Coldplay and even Prince.

Go In, Go Hard will also be on the soundtrack to the new Streetdance 2 movie as well as a track by Dionne Bromfield as well – looking forward to hearing that!

Midé is a ’20 something year old’ singer/ songwriter from London. I had the pleasure of introducing him on stage at the One Mic UK show back in December and his performance had the crowd lapping it up. His talent is undeniable and so to share it with the world he has released this 3 track EP, enjoy.

It’s always annoying when you get a great video but a terrible song, best to listen to this on mute, also look out for Chris Brown’s mental dance moves and I mean mental.

New week and of course a new favourite record in the world right now from moi. You probably already know this track, it’s by M83 aka 5 French dudes who make wicked music. I say you may already know this track because Midnight City is the theme music to reality TV show in the UK called Made In Chelsea as well as a whole load of other TV promo bits.

Lupe Fiasco released a freestyle over this beat at the end of last year called The End of The World which I played on my podcast.

Following on from the huge success Labrinth had with Earthquake here is the 2nd single called Last Time.

I guess as an artist it’s been a bit of a rough ride for Lab. Sunshine was an anthem despite not selling that well and then there was a huge wait until we heard anything else (aside from his productions).

Last Time is far from the sound I was hoping for and also expected, after the first 10 seconds my mind was made up. By the end of the track however I found myself enjoying it, I was even humming over the hook – a sign of an instant hit perhaps? The sound Labrinth has taken on is much like the Taio Cruz records that are constantly being churned out at the moment and there is also heavy use of a vocoder – how will he perform this live without it sounding crap?

I hardly ever give away my mixes online (you can hear 20 minutes of me in the mix every two weeks on my Podcast) but today I felt like recording this special one featuring some of my favourite R&B tracks from 2006/2007.

R&B around this time (late 2000′s) was what inspired me to pursue a career in DJing. Hearing it mixed on the radio would get me all excited and then all of a sudden Pitbull and David Guetta started to ruin things for everyone.

This mix features only a very few of my favourite tracks from back then, maybe I’ll do another one soon.

Yeah, honestly I don’t understand either.

On one of the UK’s biggest chat shows was this ginger haired superstar last night, yes, Ed Sheeran. The 20 year old, 4 times Brit Award nominee performed his new single Drunk and no doubt impressed a whole load of new fans making him more popular than ever.

Here is another one of my guilty pleasures which I’m not afraid to admit to you, the world.

So… Spongebob Squarepants. Yes, that loveable yellow square who lives in a pineapple under the sea – you know the one.

Despite this being deemed as a kids cartoon there is something so likeable about this yellow sponge. The situations he gets himself into, the good morals he has and sticks to and his relationship with his friends – god that makes me sound so sad but it’s all the reasons why I love this sponge.

In a way I’m sure this cartoon was really made for the older audience or am I just immature, actually I already know the answer to that.

So there you go, I admit it, I love Spongebob Squarepants. Long live that sponge.
